Christmas is gone now and spring has just arrived (even though it doesn't seem like it with the snow storm we just had). On days like today looking at the snow on the ground my mind wanders to some of the things I will get to be doing this summer.
There is a lot to look forward to this summer. Every year Midge and I spend at least a weekend in Door County, WI exploring the trails in the state parks and the little towns that dot the shore line. Our personal favorite is Ephraim, which is about halfway up the peninsula and has a fantastic place to eat breakfast. If you ever find yourself in the area we would recommend a wonderful little restaurant called The Second Story. The veggie omelets and muffins are fantastic! We also love spending time with family sitting around the fire pit roasting marshmallows and reminiscing. We have a fire pit in both Algoma,WI (where Midge’s parents live) and Washburn, WI (my parents). Both places are on the water and have wonderful walking trails on the shoreline. There is nothing like seeing a sunset over the lake. After a very long and snowy winter I am looking forward to the long warm days of summer.
