Staying fit on the road

Staying fit while being on the road can be quite a challenge. Tight time schedules, eating at fast food restaurants, and staying at hotels with often less than ideal exercise equipment (sometimes none at all) are all situations we encounter that make staying fit difficult. The key is to educate yourself and create good habits that you adhere to as part of your life whether you're at home or traveling. It's really all about the choices you make. Most restaurants now have healthful selections and nutritional informaton available. The key is to avoid the temptation of the non-healthy foods and set your mind to choose the healthy ones. The more you do it, the more it becomes habit and the more you actually crave the healthy foods. The same goes with exercise. Just do it. If you stop and think about it, it's very easy to talk yourself out of making time for it. You must make it something you just do, and once you do it, you will feel great. That great feeling gets stronger everytime you exercise until you can't imagine not exercising. When I book hotels rooms for our tours, I look for hotels with exercise rooms and many have them. The equipment may not aways be in the best shape, but usually it is useable. The most important thing is to make health and fitness a priority in your life and do it!!
