"It's Wheeling Steel"

Next up for Five By Design is a trip to Wheeling, West Virginia, where we will be part of a new production put together by the Wheeling Symphony. The production is based on the radio show “It’s Wheeling Steel”, which aired nationally from 1936-44. The show featured workers from the steel mill (amateur musicians and entertainers) who showcased their talents in front of the nation. We are musically representing some of those talented individuals and are honored to be a part of this historic recreation. Five By Design will have the opportunity to sing some timeless classics from the 40’s including Sentimental Journey, God Bless America, I’ll Be Seeing You, and Chattanooga Choo Choo. Doing a project like this is exciting for us because we are passionate about keeping the music and culture of the 1940’s alive for generations to come.
