FINALLY! At home with my wife. Unlike Kurt and Lorie (the soprano and tenor of the group), who are married and on the road together, I don’t have that luxury. Although my wife has been on the road with me sometimes the majority of the time she stays behind in the office. After being married only a year and a half, I have been separated from my wife at least a quarter of the time. Everyone jokes that we can’t argue because we don’t see each other enough. Unfortunately, that is not true. The first year of marriage, as the saying goes, is a very difficult time of adjustment. Getting to know each others quirks and idiosyncrasies has left us laughing and crying. I know without a doubt though that it is worth it. My wife has certainly completed me in areas that I really needed work (and the same can be said for me with her). Our differences have really helped develop my character in a very positive way. She is the organized one and I am creative so you know who needs more patience (the answer is her, she will be reading this you know). Seriously though, I feel very blessed to have such a wonderful wife and in the meantime we will continue to use the phone a lot on tour (thank God for cell phones).
