In sickness & performance
This week was a tough one. I rode home last monday in the van from Branson feeling very sick and praying I would not pass it on to the rest of the group. It was a long trip to Minneapolis. As a performer with no back up it makes it extremely tough to just take a “sick day”. As they say, the show must go on. I was down and out until we left again on Friday for East Lansing, MI. We performed Saturday night at the Wharton Center on the campus of Michigan State University. The venue was very nice, although I will most likely only remember this performance as a “just need to get through” performance. It always amazes me how much energy you have to put out for a two hour performance. Needless to say, I was drained after the show. Even the great audience at the show could not energize my tired, sick body. We are currently driving back to Minneapolis (a 12 hour van trip) and I am looking forward to crashing in my own bed tonight. Life on the road and being sick just don’t go together. Have no fear though, my next blog will be much more cheerful!
